Moments with Marilyn, Raw Foods
Quick now, hands up. How many of you get your five servings of fruits and vegetables everyday? Now, how many of you eat those foods raw? How many of you think it’s difficult to prepare raw foods?
With the advent of summer and the abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables, it’s easier to go raw. There’s a whole raw foods movement going on that you may have noticed. Why raw?
Because raw foods are live foods full of vitamins, minerals and enzymes. I always like to say, eat something raw with every meal.
I was at an event the other night and it was my turn to bring the goodies. I warned the organizer in advance to expect something different.
So I brought this raw Chimichurri sauce made with tomatoes, olive oil and herbs. I also brought a dessert flan made with a bavarian cream, fresh bananas and strawberries.
The company I was with loved it - they couldn’t stop eating it! I love turning people on to raw foods and herbs - it is so healthy for you.
I got the chimichurri sauce from an e-newsletter I am subscribed to. It’s at www.renegadehealth.com with Kevin Gianni. Keep up the good work, Kevin!
If you want the dessert recipe, let me know in the comments box at the end of this blog. Oh, I also have this cool ‘whipped cream’ you can make with nuts.
