Getting Ready for the Victoria Health Show, Moments with Marilyn

I’m exhibiting in the Victoria Health Show starting tomorrow and I’m getting nervous with all the things I need to do to get ready.
How do I make things interesting? At these health shows there are often many samples to try. While I don’t have those to give away, I do have Free magazines and will be giving away lots of copies of The Herbal Collective. I’m also going to have some fresh live herbs - a bunch of cilantro I picked up for our Mexican meal last night and my chives I’ve been growing on my windowsill all winter. They’ve been doing quite well, actually.
I’m also going to have a draw for a book I’m giving away called Flower and Tree Magic by Richard Webster. ’Let the Beauty and Magic of Nature enchant your life,’ it states on the back cover.
The book promises that readers can ‘explore the historical origins, medicinal uses and magical effects of over one hundred common herbs, trees and flowers. From protecting your home with a sprinkling of rose oil to attracting fairies with a flower garden, the ways you can apply nature’s magic to your life are boundless.’
When readers enter our draw, they will get a chance to win this book. I’m also going to bring along some essential oils so that people can look and sniff them, to get an idea of how herbs are used in this way. I might bring some of the Pico de Gallo I made (recipe on previous blog) so people can see how herbs are used in foods as well.
Maybe I’ll bring a few supplements so people can see how herbs are used to improve health.
Along with the magazine, the idea is to let people see the many ways herbs can be used to enhance their lives. I use herbs every single day, in the supplements I take, the food I eat, the plants I grow, the baths I take and the scents I enjoy. I love using herbs and I know you can too.
