Fight Those Nasty Flu Bugs

By Marilyn Zink

It’s not even fall yet and we already have one person sick in our family.

My husband got sick with the flu about two days ago and is on the mend.  He’s fairly healthy so his immune system is helping him fight off the bug.

As far as we know, it is not Swine Flu, however it is not something we can make a diagnosis of on our own.

It came on suddenly and he also had symptoms that made him feel restless.  He switched from upstairs to downstairs, telling me he couldn’t relax as the virus was affecting his respiration.

I suggested he take a bath with essential oils of lavender and geranium. Lavender is very calming and geranium has a balancing effect on the nervous system.

I also suggested some calcium/magnesium supplements, as magnesium is an aid to relaxing and calcium can help with this as well.

I had taken some over-the-counter drugs over a year ago, something I don’t usually do and had regretted it as it didn’t help and made my heart race.

I used calcium/magnesium then to help me relax and it worked in about 30 minutes, making me calm enough to sleep.

I plan to get some homeopathic medication to help my sick husband and also have it available should anyone else feel ill.

Our body often gives some signals at the first signs of an illness and we should pay attention to that. As soon as you feel that sore throat, start sneezing or feel headachy,  that is the time to be proactive and take anti-viral herbs such as oil or oregano.

These anti-viral herbs can go to work immediately to stop the virus from multiplying and spreading, and kick start the immune system to fight those nasty bugs so you can be healthy.

So don’t ignore the messages your body is giving you.  Keep your immune system strong and you’re more likely to stay healthy. Vitamin D can go a long way to help with that.
